WATCH NHK Japan: Torn Apart – Enduring Dream to Reunite
NHK Japan has given us a glimpse into the struggle of the PNLSC, alongside Nikkei-jin who were separated from their families, regardless of whether they remained in the Philippines, or were repatriated to Japan.
Featuring Teruko Miyagi, born of Japanese parents in Davao, who has been in search for any of her 9 (nine) siblings for over half a century. The film shows us how difficult it is to actually trace roots, and find any clue as to where people could have ended up with all the chaos brought upon by the war.
