State Minister for Foreign Affairs TSUGE Yoshifumi meets with Filipino Nikkei-jin
On 21 August 2024, Mr. TSUGE Yoshifumi, Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs met with the “Filipino Nikkei-jin” during his visit in Manila. He exchanged views on the current situation and efforts made by Japanese government with them. During the meeting, Mr. Jose Takei, a second-generation Filipino Nikkei-jin, also spoke about his own experiences and hardships over the years.
The Embassy of Japan will continue to provide its utmost support to as many remaining Filipino Nikkei-jin as possible, to facilitate their swift restoration of their Japanese nationality and smooth return to Japan.
